ABUJA, (Sundiata Finance) – After the appointment of its previous chairman, Mr. Aliyu Abdulrahman Dikko, as the Director General, National Pension Commission (PenCom), the shareholders of Premium Pension Limited (PPL) ratified the appointment of Mr Yunusa Yakubu as the new Chairman at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) held recently.
He was, until his appointment, the Chairman of the Board’s Committee on Strategic Growth. A successful businessman and versatile consulting architect, Yunusa Yakubu, obtained a B.Sc. in Architecture in 1984 from Ahmadu Bello University and followed up with an M.Sc. in the same subject at the same university in 1986.
He started his working career with the Ministry of Works and Housing in Bauchi State in 1987. While there, he worked on the designs and supervision of buildings, including the Local Government Secretariats, Political Party offices and the State’s liaison office in Abuja.
In 1993, he moved to the Ministry of the Federal Capital Territory as Project Coordinator, Maintenance Department. Arc. Yunusa served on the board of Suntrust Savings and Loans Limited as a director and he was appointed by the Federal Government as a member of the Governing Council of Abubakar Tafawa University, Bauchi. He is currently a director of Micheletti Construction Limited and Niglemech Nigeria Limited.
During his illustrious career, he attended several prestigious international training programmes including the Managing Strategic Innovation in Business Programme at Harvard University, USA and the Real Estate Investment Model, Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Currently, he is the Managing Director of Lubell Nigeria Limited and a distinguished Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA). In the same vein, the appointment of Mr. ‘Bade Adeshina into the Board was also ratified at the AGM. Mr. Adeshina brings immense wealth of experience into the company. He holds B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Finance from University of Lagos and obtained a diploma in Information Science/Systems from University of Ibadan.
Premium Pension Limited manages 738,736 Retirement Savings Accounts (RSAs) and 46, 941 retirees and has paid since inception retirement benefits to the tune of almost N119 billion while having pension Assets Under Management (AUM) in excess of N460 billion.
